I enjoyed doing this activity very much. There is a muslim mosque near the flat where I am staying. I joined them for the Friday prayer and people were not opposed to it, even though they didn’t know me. Some were a bit surprised and looked at me a s a tourist. I didn’t manage to talk to an official mosque person, but I talked to 2 very nice mulim guys, they were young and even though there were some language barriers, we managed to communicate in English. First we washed before the prayer (it was actually quite cold, not my favourite part!) as this is their tradition. The guys didn’t want to talk inside the mosque, as I learnt, that was disrespectful. So we talked when the prayer was done. Apparently, there are rules for sitting during the prayer, connected to the sun. So we followed those rules. I didn’t have stereotypes about muslim people before doing this activity and I also have some muslim friends, but it was still an interesting experience to talk to muslim people from other countries about their religion.
